Don’t worry, audience members can choose the proximity of their seating from the pool

The poolside area of the Corinthia Palace in Attard will be the perfect backdrop for the water-themed Shakespeare play ‘The Tempest’ this summer, running from 25th June till 2nd July.

The theatre company ‘WhatsTheirNames Theatre’ are known for staging Shakespeare plays in unconventional locations, which led to the Shakespeare in the Pub at Valletta’s ‘The Pub’, and Shakespeare in the Garden, bringing to life various gardens including Vincent's Eco Estate and Msida Bastion Cemetery and Historic Garden.

Anyone who’s watched the young actors before knows that they are more than up to the job: starring in the main role of Prospero is Joseph Zammit, accompanied on stage by Becky Camilleri, Tina Rizzo, Gianni Selvaggi, Nathan Brimmer and Joe Azzopardi, all of whom are directed by Philip Leone-Ganado, who has become a household name in Maltese theatre.

The audience can expect fast-paced action and farcical mishaps that colour Shakespeare’s comedies. The production is suitable for all ages, however parental guidance is advised due to instances of mild sexual humour and comic violence.

Will you attend this innovative staging of the classic play?
