This trek is not for the faint-hearted!

Local vlogger, Pierre Farrugia, is off on another adventure. This time, his bold instinct took him to the cliffs at Benghajsa where he found a path leading straight down to sea level. Looking from a distance, this trek seemed like an impossible feat to conquer.

However, we all know Pierre’s risk-taking mindset and that did not stop him from taking a closer look and going down this path, especially since he knew that this path was used by smugglers to snake in goods on the island. So, he put on his safety equipment and off he went on an adventure!

Pierre commenced this trek by climbing down a very narrow flight of steps that took him to the top of the cliffs down to sea level. This led him to a very interesting cave, with beautiful layer patterns and even steps dug into the rock. However, these steps were too steep and dangerous to conquer from where Pierre was standing at the time.

As he exited the cave and continued his journey, the explorer realised that there was also another entrance to the cave that was now blocked by a rock.

When Pierre reached sea level, he was mesmerised by the scenery that he saw before him...cliffs, caves and blue sea like never before!

His adventure also led him to witness the Tal-Mara rock, which some believe it’s called such due to the high stone pillar that resembles a woman while the shorter rock represents her child.

Pierre also encountered another cave on his journey that was formed due to a huge crack in the cliff. From the outside, this cave truly looks like a simple crack, but upon entering, this local vlogger found himself in a long high-ceiling cave, and he came across copper and brass deposits that resembled shell casings and also chine marked R.A.F.

This trek is not for the faint-hearted, Pierre warns. In fact, trekking to this place proved to be really dangerous, even for experienced trekkers like Pierre since the cliffs were extremely fragile, steep and contained very loose soil and rock.

Have you ever hiked/visited the Ta’ Benghajsa cliffs?
