Ragusa Xpress, the much-anticipated new ferry service linking Malta with Ragusa, Sicily, is set to commence in September. However, the exact launch date remains uncertain as operators are still waiting on final permits from Sicilian authorities, according to the Times of Malta.

Initially slated for a late spring debut, the service has faced delays due to issues with permit approvals. Despite the wait, the new route promises to be a significant addition to travel options between Malta and Sicily.

This service introduces a fresh and exciting way to journey to Sicily. While Virtue Ferries currently offers routes exclusively to Pozzallo, the Ragusa Xpress will provide a direct connection to Ragusa, a charming city renowned for its Baroque architecture and vibrant cultural scene. This new route opens up a range of new possibilities for travelers eager to explore more of Sicily’s diverse offerings.
