The magic of Christmas is set to illuminate the historic streets of Valletta, as the details of the eagerly anticipated 'Christmas in the Capital' program have just been announced.

Running from the 25th of November to the 31st of December 2023, this festive initiative aims to bring joy and cultural richness to locals and visitors alike.

Valletta, with its rich cultural heritage, is the ideal setting for such celebrations. This year's program incorporates activities promoting peace and serenity, providing a respite from ongoing conflicts worldwide. The inclusion of the traditional Baby Jesus procession adds a meaningful touch to the festivities, connecting with Maltese traditions.

With a lineup of 29 events and activities, the program promises something for everyone. Stilt walkers, musical choirs, and performances by renowned artists such as Ira Losco, The Travellers, and Gianluca Bezzina will grace the stages of Valletta.

The National New Year's Eve Celebrations will once again take centre stage at St George's Square, with free admission for all.

The festive spirit will be ushered in on the 25th of November, marked by the lighting of Christmas lights, the inauguration of a traditional Christmas crib near St John's Co-Cathedral, and the switch-on of spectacular projections in St George's Square from the 4th of December.

Throughout the season, Republic Street will be filled with the sounds of Christmas music, creating a magical ambience.

The program extends beyond performances, featuring children's workshops at the Valletta Design Cluster, street animators, and pop-up events by Dancel Dance Studio.
