Can you help? Health Ministry is looking for accommodation for its COVID-19 healthcare workers
With many healthcare workers opting to leave their family homes to decrease the likelihood of their families getting infected with COVID-19, the Ministry for Health is rallying its efforts to assist its doctors and nurses in finding an adequate accommodation space.
Announced this afternoon, The Ministry for Health is: “inviting owners of accommodation facilities who are willing to offer property, in Malta or Gozo, free of charge or at a cost, to be used to accommodate Healthcare Professionals who opt not to return to their family home after work due to the fact that they are exposed to Covid-19 and do not want to put family members at risk.”
The Facebook post also provided information related to necessary specs: “Accommodation may be in the form of self–catering apartments or hotels which offer kitchenette within the premises. The accommodation should also have a washing machine or the possibility for laundry services. Apartments/rooms should preferably be comprised of single-bedded rooms, although twin and triple rooms will also be considered.”
Those who graciously offer their accommodation free of charge to health care workers need not worry about utility bills as they'll be taken care of by the workers.
