The regeneration introduced a 210-metre greenway for cyclists and joggers, almost 1,000 square metres of new walkways, upgraded benches and swings, and an outdoor exercise structure.
A long-abandoned public space in Pietà has been transformed into a vibrant, accessible garden, following an extensive regeneration project led by the Grand Harbour Regeneration Corporation (GHRC) in collaboration with Ambjent Malta and the Department of Public Works.

The newly inaugurated Marina Garden now spans more than 4,400 square metres, offering families, children, the elderly, and recreational users a safe and modern open space.
The new garden respects historical features while providing modern facilities that promote healthier lifestyles and biodiversity. It is a space where families can spend time together, where children can play and where everyone can relax in a beautiful and clean environment.

The garden is also involved in a broader vision of creating pedestrian-friendly areas and open spaces across Malta. The Department of Public Works contributed to the restoration of the garden’s fountain, alongside other upgrades.
The regeneration introduced a 210-metre greenway for cyclists and joggers, almost 1,000 square metres of new walkways, upgraded benches and swings, and an outdoor exercise structure. Improvements were also made to lighting, recreational areas, and monuments, ensuring both safety and the preservation of cultural value. Ambjent Malta enhanced the garden’s ecological character by planting new trees, shrubs, and seasonal plants, supported by a sustainable irrigation system.
