It’s a dream come true for young Maltese ballet dancer Gig Baldacchino, who has officially been accepted into the prestigious Elmhurst Ballet School in Birmingham – one of the top classical ballet institutions in the world.

Known for training elite dancers aged 11 to 19 and preparing them for professional careers in ballet, Elmhurst has a long-standing reputation as a launchpad for international talent. And now, Gig will be joining their ranks!

His proud parents, Connie and Luigi Baldacchino, shared the happy news in a social media post, reflecting on Gig’s love for dance, which began at just three years old. Connie wrote, ‘Throughout the years you have shone and achieved great results in various classes of dance, which led to your latest accomplishment’.

Gig’s journey to Elmhurst began with his participation in this year’s ‘Metti le Ali al Talento’ masterclasses in Italy. His performance there earned him a direct pass to the final audition for Elmhurst’s full-time training programme – and he clearly nailed it!

Connie ended her emotional message with words of encouragement and some great advice: ‘Dance with passion and from your heart!’

A big congratulations to Gig - we can't wait to see where your passion leads next!
