Booked an Air Malta flight pre-COVID? The local airline announces new options for its flyers

Malta’s national airline has announced three new options for its clients who have booked flights this year and have been cancelled due to this pesky Coronavirus pandemic.

The three options which include “Ready to ‘Book your trip’”, “Save your trip,” and “Decide on your ‘Trip Later’” offer more flexibility to customers in the form of travel voucher.

1. Ready to ‘Book your trip’ 

“Passengers originating from Malta can exchange their ticket, free of charge, to any Air Malta destination. All passengers can choose any new date to travel within 12 months from the date of your original flight,” they airline said. A €20 Travel Voucher will be awarded for every Air Malta operated flight, be it inbound or outbound, customers had originally booked. “The Travel Voucher can be used on any future Air Malta operated flight. The Travel Voucher is fully transferable, non-refundable, valid for 1 year and can be issued only once for each passenger.”

2. ‘Save your trip’ 

You can book when you are ready and as a token of our gratitude, you will be awarded an additional 30% of the value of your original fare,” the airline said. “The full amount of your ticket plus an additional 30% of the value of your original fare in the form of Travel Vouchers.”  These are valid for 12 months from the date of issue, and can be used for any Air Malta operated flight. The Travel Vouchers are fully transferable however please note they are non-refundable.

3. Decide on your ‘Trip Later’ 

 The full amount of a flight ticket is issued in the form of a Travel Voucher. “The Travel Voucher is valid for 12 months from the date of issue on any Air Malta operated flight,” which is also non-transferable and fully refundable. “If not used, you can apply for a refund of the Travel Voucher in the last month of its validity.”
