Beneath the surface! Local vlogger explores Malta's hidden catacombs located under Fort Mosta
These catacombs are also called the Victoria Lines Hidden Catacombs.

Local vlogger Pierre Farrugia recently took an extraordinary journey to delve into the mysteries of the Victoria Lines Hidden Catacombs located beneath Fort Mosta.

Victoria Lines Hidden Catacombs

Guided by a thirst for exploration, Pierre's adventure took him through rugged terrain and dense vegetation, a reminder to the hidden nature of these ancient chambers.

Upon discovering the catacombs, Pierre encountered two entrances, one of which boasted a built-in doorway, hinting at the historical significance of this underground labyrinth. Speculations suggest a Bronze Age citadel once graced the site, its remnants possibly incorporated into the construction of Fort Mosta, though concrete evidence remains elusive.

Venturing further, Pierre marvelled at the well-preserved chambers, each revealing intricate details of ancient burial practices. Remarkably, some chambers even featured steps carved into the rock.

Respecting the sanctity of the site, our adventurous vlogger adhered to the Leave No Trace Principle, recognising the historical importance of these catacombs.
