Avoid Malta’s scorching heat with these eight INDOOR summer activities
Enjoy the summer months without the summer sunburn…

Kim Vella

Malta’s summer sun is no joke, and sometimes not even a refreshing swim can help you beat the heat.

Having a list of go-to activities to entertain yourself with when it gets blisteringly hot out there is the best way to ensure that you can protect yourself whilst still enjoying the summer months.

That being said, here are eight fun indoor activities you can get up to this summer to stop you from feeling bored:

1. Make ice lollies

There’s nothing better than a rejuvenating ice lolly on a summer’s day - especially if it’s homemade.

This can be the perfect healthy alternative summer snack since you get to choose your own ingredients. Just pour some of your favourite fruit juice into a popsicle mode, stick it into the freezer, and enjoy!

2. Have an at-home spa day

Pampering yourself doesn’t need to cost you an arm and a leg.

Run a refreshing bath, make a homemade facial mix, and give your feet a well-deserved break by soaking them in some salt water.

3. Host a movie marathon night

Lights, popcorn, play.

It’s nice to take a break from all those fast-paced summer events just to stay home and watch a movie. Simply switch on the AC, pick your film of choice, and the rest is history.

4. Tie-dye some t-shirts

This fun project will keep you busy for a few hours and leave you with a colourful new wardrobe.

Tie-dyeing old clothes is a great example of upcycling that will reward you with some great summer pieces.mer.

5. Get baking

This is the perfect time to try your hand out at baking!

Even if you don’t exactly consider yourself to be the next Gordon Ramsay, trying a simple cookie recipe is bound to be loads of fun. Just make sure to share your product with your nearest and dearest.

6. Host a DIY pool party

Bring the beach to your home!

Inflatable kiddy pools are way more adaptable than you might think and can offer the perfect solution to wind down after a steaming day. Of course, this is also sure to go down extremely well with your kids.

7. Declutter whilst listening to podcasts

Multitasking at its finest.

Who said cleaning up has to be boring? Put your favourite podcast on and get on that cleaning task you’ve been procrastinating for months. Whether you’re big on true crime, comedy, fiction, or news, there’s bound to be a podcast that tickles your fancy.

8. Start an indoor garden

Make use of those green fingers and get started on your indoor garden.

If you’re an avid food lover and like to cook with herbs, this will save you some cash and add some green to your home.
