A year ago today, beloved Maltese actor and broadcaster Joe Debono passed away at the age of 63 following a two-year battle with ALS.

Joe, who was best known for his portrayal of 'Sur Bondin' on talk-show Xarabank, was very public with his ALS diagnosis.

He fought his illness alongside patient-activist Bjorn Formosa and worked to raise fund for the second 'Dar Bjorn'.

Joe's wife, Tanya, took to Facebook to commemorate his wonderful life and all the beautiful memories they shared.

“And just like that, a year has passed… we feel the emptiness, and a lot of it. But today I have to remember all the beautiful moments we shared together”, she expressed.

“Till the end, you did as much good as you could, and the love that your friends still have for you has spread to us as well. At many points, my thoughts turn to you, but what’s most difficult are those beautiful family experiences that I’d want to share with you,” she continued.
