The magnificent Church of Our Lady of Divine Providence stands as a remarkable landmark, dominating the surrounding area with its awe-inspiring architecture.

The current structure was built to replace an older church that had been closed for public worship, ensuring that the local community could continue to practice their faith in a grand and inspiring setting.

Designed by renowned Maltese architect Andrea Belli (1703-1772), the church features his signature style, blending elegance with a sense of grandeur.

However, its history is marked by resilience, as the church endured structural challenges after being struck by lightning twice. These incidents caused significant damage, necessitating extensive restoration work.

The restoration was entrusted to another distinguished Maltese architect, Michele Cachia (1769-1839), who introduced a striking portico that enhances the church’s architectural design. This addition not only restored the church's structural integrity but also elevated its visual appeal, making it a true statement to both artistic and engineering excellence.

Today, the Church of Our Lady of Divine Providence continues to serve as a place of worship and a cherished historical monument. It stands as a symbol of perseverance and faith, embodying the dedication of those who contributed to its construction and restoration.
