5 fantastic places in Malta & Gozo with model Madeleine Baldacchino
My model life!

Madeleine Baldacchino is a Maltese model and influencer known for her fiery red hair and porcelain skin—and she just loves the outdoors! It's clear to see that she's enamoured with the Maltese Islands.

When she’s not taking a dip in the crystal clear waters of her favourite beaches, or watching the cocktail-coloured sunsets in the countryside, Madeleine is also a DJ and University student, studying biology. We just had to find out where this belle of the beach hangs out – we want photos like that of our own! Here’s what she had to say.

1. Għar Lapsi

"Għar Lapsi is definitely one of my favourite spots on the the south west coast. I grew up visiting this place every Sunday during the summer period. I loved jumping off the cliffs and picking up crabs (and putting them back of course!). Nowadays I just go for a quick dip, dry up in the sun and quickly go under the cave which so conveniently protects me from the sun. I must admit, the hill to get back up is a little tough, especially in the sun, but its nothing a cold beer can’t fix, so Ta' Rita Lapsi is where I head to after. Besides, the view is phenomenal from above- so picturesque!"

2. Comino

"It’s probably one of the most frequented places locally, and that’s why you’ll probably find me visit Comino, in springtime rather than in summer. I’d say camping is the best option to get the real Comino experience. It's the perfect place if you just want to relax and have a break from all the traffic! Waking up to see the sunrise over the Blue Lagoon is definitely an emotional experience. Hiking to the tower and maybe even to Santa Marija Bay is also a great opportunity to see a lot of flora and fauna! Need I say more about the view? Just stunning! It's possibly the most clear blue water ever."

3. Wied Babu

"Wied Babu is not for the faint hearted - it is quite a walk to get to the sea, but rewarding nonetheless. It’s extremely remote, there was no one there each time I went. The sea is just so blue and clear. I suggest visiting only when it’s not windy, as it can get a little rough and there aren’t any metal bars for support. It's perfect for those wishing to be in an place away from humanity. Walking it back can be challenging and extremely hot, so I head to Wied Iż-Żurrieq straight after for an ice-cream or slushy, which is a lovely reward!"

4. Selmun

"All of Selmun is beautiful, however the view from Mġiebaħ Bay tops it all off. Firstly, it’s a remote beach. You have to take a cooler with all the goodies to last you throughout your visit. The mixture between sand and clay also really give it a unique vibe. I love how turquoise the water appears. It’s quiet, and perfect for a little walk. It's definitely one of my favourites from the Northern Coast!"

5. Wied l-Għasri

"Our sister island, Gozo, offers us various beautiful spots and Wied l-Għasri is one of them. It has recently become extremely popular and it’s evident to see why. The s-shaped valley really has a unique appearance, and the sea is also very clear. The only drawback is that it does tend to be a bit colder than other swimming sites, but this is perfect for those who prefer cooler sea temperatures. I love to go in the morning, because it’s quieter and there's still some shade. I just hang out on the pebbles and read a book or just chill. I wish I could visit more often!"
