€10,000 fine for COVID-19 patients caught breaking self-isolation
Fine for those caught breaking quarantine remains the same ... for now

Caroline Curmi

Patients diagnosed with COVID-19 caught breaching rules of self-isolation will now be subject to a €10,000 fine.

The fine for those breaching quarantine rules currently remains at €3,000, after having been tripled last week. Both fines are stackable – in fact, last week a Frenchman got slapped with a 9,000 fine after being caught breaking quarantine a whopping five times. Changes addressing the public health act were also put into motion.

A legal notice was issued late last night.
