Last night, the centre of Malta was illuminated with incredible sights and colours of the fireworks erupting from Lija’s Christ our Saviour (is-Salvatur) feast, as the St Michael’s Fireworks Factory put on an incredible show both on land and in the air.

The night kicked off with a stunning pyromusical display, timing perfectly timed bursts of colour with a classical soundtrack, including a dramatic rendition of Do-Re-Mi from 'The Sound of Music'. 

After an electric aerial finale – complete with the famous ‘kaxxa infernali’ lighting up the sky – the attention turned to the ground fireworks, equally impressive in their precision and colourful glory.

Founded in 1925, the St Michael’s Fireworks Factory has become a household name in the world of Maltese pyrotechnics, with the eve of Tas-Salvatur being one of the most anticipated summer nights when it comes to firework shows. And if last night’s display was anything to go by, they’re not slowing down any time soon.

What a show!
