Żabbar residents know a thing or two about events...whether it be their blowout double festa or their record breaking pasta eating competition, they sure know how to host a grand old time, and from what we hear, this year's Żabbar Umbrellas Beer Festival is set to be no different!

Set in the midst of their fantastic rainbow umbrellas installation in Sanctuary Street, the festival will extend into Main Street, Żabbar, and streetfood stalls will line the way with pulled pork buns, German hotdogs and fresh pasta dishes to compliment your icy brew.

The main pull of the event, which will be held on the 29th of June from 8pm, will be the vast variety of beers on offer, from well known names to niche offerings from smaller breweries, and even some locally produced craft beers. In true beer festival style, there'll be beer drinking competitions and live music to get you in the celebration spirit! 

"All Maltese love to drink and eat...and we wanted to create an event that will take advantage of the umbrellas and host a summer festival" says Julian Scicluna, a Żabbar local councillor and Societa Filarmonica Maria Mater Gratiae committee member. Sounds like a great plan to us! 

Get there early before sundown to get some amazing snaps of the umbrella installation and make sure to check out the live music acts on the night. This all sounds like the perfect way to spend a summery Saturday evening, and we can't wait to sample all the tasty food and drink on offer!
