As we welcome October, one particular colour will be prominent throughout this month, and with good reason! Pink October is here, and many companies, organisations and government entities are showing their support by creating awareness about breast cancer.
One such entity is Ix-Xewkija Local Council in Gozo. Situated in a gorgeous old Gozitan building, the Xewkija Local Council are showing its support for breast cancer awareness month in a sweet way. “Ix-Xewkija Local Council goes Pink throughout October to raise awareness about breast cancer prevention,” their announcement read on Facebook, showing a photo of their premises lit up in pink - including the little fountain!

Pink October refers to Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a yearly international healthy campaign organised by charities all over the world to increase awareness about this form of cancer and ways to prevent it. Just yesterday, the President of Malta H.E. George Vella together with local organistaion Action For Breast Cancer Foundation Malta, launched an informative video featuring true stories about dealing with and going through breast cancer.
