Wine, music & harbour views! Valletta Waterfront Wine Fest returns this June
It's all happening from 9th to 12th June

Summer in Malta means one thing: finding every possible excuse to spend your evenings by the sea. And few places capture that summer atmosphere quite like the Valletta Waterfront Wine Fest.

After a successful first edition last year, the festival is making its return this June, from Tuesday 9th to Friday 12th, bringing together waterfront views, live music, great food and plenty of wine along one of Malta’s most iconic promenades.

Valletta Waterfront Wine Fest

Set against the stunning backdrop of the Grand Harbour, the Valletta Waterfront transforms into the ultimate summer evening destination. Lined with its famous colourful doors and centuries-old warehouses originally built by the Knights of St John, the area has become one of Malta’s most popular harbourside spots for both locals and tourists alike. Sitting just minutes away from Valletta itself and directly beside the cruise terminal, it perfectly combines history, nightlife and Mediterranean scenery all in one location.

For visitors travelling to Malta, it’s also one of the easiest places to experience the island’s summer atmosphere in a single evening. You get panoramic harbour views, waterfront dining, live entertainment and a front-row seat to some of the island’s best sunsets - all while surrounded by one of Europe’s most historic ports.

Of course, the wine is the star of the show. Visitors can enjoy a wide selection of international wines alongside local Maltese favourites, including varieties made from indigenous grapes like Girgentina and Ġellewża.

Whether you’re a casual wine lover or someone who genuinely knows the difference between notes and aromas, there’s something for everyone to sip on. Malta’s very own Brand Ambassador for Wines of Malta and Gozo Joséf Bonello will also be present. He will share his extensive experience and passion for local wine, celebrating the richness of our islands’ unique winemaking story.

But what makes the Wine Fest work so well is its relaxed atmosphere. This isn’t one of those overly formal wine events where everyone pretends to be the expert with the wine jargon. It’s more of a laid-back summer gathering where you can wander between tasting stations, enjoy live entertainment, grab dinner in one of the restaurants dotting the Waterfront and spend time soaking up the atmosphere.

This year’s entertainment line-up is also set to keep the energy going all evening, with live performances from local favourites Fakawi and Kevin Paul bringing singalongs, crowd favourites and feel-good summer vibes to the harbour.

And honestly, Valletta Waterfront just feels different at night during summer. The sea breeze cuts through the heat, the reflections shimmer across the water and the whole place somehow manages to feel both lively and relaxed at the same time.

Food will also play a major role throughout the festival, with the waterfront’s restaurants and bars serving everything from fresh seafood, pizza and sharing platters to cocktails and desserts. So even if wine isn’t really your thing, there are still plenty of reasons to tag along.

Valletta Waterfront Wine Fest

For its second edition, the Valletta Waterfront Wine Fest is quickly becoming one of those staple summer events people keep coming back to - the kind of night that starts with 'just one glass' and somehow ends hours later with a full camera roll and a new favourite wine.

Safe to say, if your ideal summer evening includes harbour views, live music and a glass in hand, this is one event worth adding to your Malta bucket list this June.
