What

Marie Louise Kold/National Library of Malta

Already in its third week, this exhibition of metal art by Danish artist Marie Louise Kold takes inspiration from the old tomes at the library, transforming them into pieces reflecting the power and strength of metal – and thought. And, tomorrow night, she will be delving into her art in a talk held on site. The exhibition is only open till 2nd June, so try catch it while you can!

Thursday, 24th May – Saturday, 26th May: Joan workshops – Spazju Kreattiv, Valletta.

Spazju Kreattiv

Drag-performance Joan will be kicking off this weekend at the theatre in Spazju Kreattiv, but workshops on various related themes are also being held before the curtain is raised. The first – on the theme Queer theory in performance – will be held this Thursday. It will centre on definitions of ‘queer’, exploring queerness and performance.

Filmic journeys:

Wednesday, 23rd May, 7:30pm: Isle of Dogs – Spazju Kreattiv, Valletta.

What

Spazju Kreattiv/Isle of Dogs

Premiering at the Berlin Film Festival earlier this year, Wes Anderson’s Isle of Dogs is a modern classic. Set in a dystopian near-future Japan, the film follows a 12-year-old boy, Atari, as he sets off alone in a miniature Junior-Turbo Prop and flies across the river in search of his bodyguard-dog, Spots. There, with the assistance of a pack of newly-found mongrel friends, he begins an epic journey that will decide the fate and future of the entire Prefecture. Click here for tickets.
