Planning a holiday to Malta this April and not quite sure what to pack? Here’s everything you need to know about typical weather in Malta and Gozo during April.

By April, spring-like weather really kicks in. The days get longer, temperatures start rising and the sun shines all over the beautiful Maltese archipelago.

With that being said, it is still not quite summer yet so don’t expect scorching hot temperatures. You might not need scarves and thick jackets but it doesn’t mean that you won’t need a light jacket or two, especially during the evenings.

Malta’s high-temperature averages at around 20°C during April with an average sea temperature of 17°C. Although the sea might probably still be quite cold, it is perfectly feasible to go for a refreshing swim.

Despite the higher temperatures, Malta can also get quite windy as the islands are very much flat and exposed.

Nonetheless, UV Rays will be high so make sure to protect your skin and use some sunblock.

You might also encounter some light rain, with the average rainfall falling 26mm over the course of six days.

As for huge storms, none are being predicted for April 2025 as of yet as they are quite unlikely. This may however, change as time goes by so make sure to check for updates.

Are you hoping for some balmy days and an early swim this April?
