What a throwback! Benna’s old product cartons are everything a Maltese childhood was about
If you know, you know.

We’re taking a trip down memory lane, reminiscing about the days of the old Benna cartons we all know and love. While in recent years Benna has added the limited edition Coconut milkshake and now have blessed us with the Vanilla Biscuit milkshake (yas), these oldies will always hold a special place in our hearts (even if we’re lactose intolerant in our adult years).

1. Strawberry milkshakes

Kids nowadays won’t know the joys of getting home from school to one of these puppies. Kien jinzel ghasel, as we say in Maltese. #Truth.

2. Banana milkshakes

Weirdly satisfying. The banana version of the milkshake wasn’t such a popular choice like chocolate or strawberry, but a sweet one nonetheless. If you needed an extra kick in the morning, this would have done the trick.

3. 1998 milk cartons

The 1998 milk cartons were in a league of their own. While the artwork is something we dearly miss, those side carton ads would be our daily morning read. Now that's nostalgia.

4. Ben & Shirley

The icons of Benna! Ben and Shirley were the two kids on the milkshake cartons downing the goods. Obvs. Taking the small cartons of strawberry, chocolate and banana milkshakes to school for lunch meant you were one of the cool kids. #TheySeeMeDrinkinTheyHatin

5. The later range

In later years, Benna updated their cartons to snazzier ones which each flavour having a little splash into the milk. Gotta love a little dramatic advertising.

6. Mocha Coffee Dessert

This one was for the coffee lovers (and the sneaky kids who would taste literally everything on Benna’s list). Love it or hate it, it was an iconic one.

7. Fresh cream

Benna’s fresh cream carton was recognisable from a mile away. Those yellow and green colours were bright enough for you to quickly pick up the carton and be on your way to the next item on the shopping list. They came in 250ml cartons and 568ml ones (oddly specific?).

8. Fruit yoghurts

The legends! Benna’s first yoghurt cartons included strawberry, peach, tropical fruit, and natural flavours. We’d lick up every last drop of the stuff!
