Malta’s food and drinks sphere has received yet another major accolade!

That’s right - Valletta-based coffee shop and coffee roasters Lot Sixty One have been named amongst the 50 best coffee shops in Europe by none other than ‘Big 7 Travel’.

As its name suggests, ‘Big 7 Travel’ is an international travel website devoted to offering readers curated recommendations about must-visit places across countless countries.

Post earlier this month, ‘Big 7 Travel’s’ article titled ‘The 50 Best Coffee Shops in Europe’ ranks Lot Sixty One as the 38th best coffee shop in the entire content.

“This thoroughly modern café is the perfect addition to the old walled city of Valletta,” the website wrote.

“They roast coffee daily at their roaster in Naxxar to ensure the freshest, most delicious coffees too. This isn’t one for anyone on a diet though, it’s practically impossible to say ‘no’ to Lot Sixty One’s sweet treats,” it continued.

Needless to say, the coffee shop was quick to publicise the good news on social media.

“We are very honoured to see our coffee shop in Valletta on this year’s ‘Top 50 Coffee Shops in Europe’ alongside the biggest names in the coffee industry. It’s a huge honour and privilege to have achieved this twice in a matter of four years (2019 and 2022),” the establishment wrote.

“What is the ranking system, you might ask? Editorial experience, critic reviews, customer feedback, location and accessibility, presentation, value for money, and atmosphere. Tough right? But we made it because we pay attention to every detail – from coffee buying, roasting, and packing to brewing, serving, and receiving guests. Our motto? Everyone should get the best coffee experience and education in coffee is key but without a great team you can never achieve your dream,” it continued.

Well done, guys!
