In a recent clean-up organised by local group Coast is Clear, over a tonne of waste, specifically 1,083 kilograms, was collected from the land and sea around Exiles in Sliema.

This initiative was part of a larger effort, with 12 clean-ups held by the organisation in September alone. The event was carried out in collaboration with Regjun Lvant and the Sliema Local Council.

The clean-up saw active participation from local residents, councillors, students from Verdala International School, and dedicated volunteers from Coast is Clear.

In the sea, divers retrieved two large ladders, massive umbrellas, various metals, and two bags filled with ropes and plastics, adding up to 471 kilograms.

The collective effort resulted in a truckload of metal and wooden waste, along with a full skip of general waste. Volunteers even went the extra mile, power washing the stairs and surrounding areas.

Kudos to all who took part in this impactful clean-up!

Have you ever participated in a clean-up?
