Two of Malta’s brightest swimming stars have just made a splash on the national scene – and in record time!

Kyle Micallef, who made his Olympic debut in Paris last year, has set a new national record in the 50m freestyle with an impressive time of 22.79 seconds. Representing Neptunes, Kyle’s powerhouse swim also earned him a gold medal, further cementing his place among Malta’s elite swimmers.

Meanwhile, Mya Azzopardi has made her own mark in the record books by smashing a long-standing national record in the 100m freestyle. With a time of 57.75 seconds, she brings down a record that had remained untouched since the Beijing Olympics in 2008 – an incredible feat for the young swimmer.

Congratulations to Kyle and Mya for these phenomenal achievements!
