Big congratulations are in order for local talent Marika Caruana, who has proudly placed 6th internationally in the 2024 edition of the prestigious Wiki Loves Monuments competition – achieving the highest international ranking ever by a Maltese photo in any Wiki Loves photography competition!

Representing Malta on the global stage, Marika’s breathtaking photo of the iconic Mellieħa Parish Church, beautifully illuminated under a glowing full moon, captivated the judges and earned her a well-deserved top spot.

Organised annually, Wiki Loves Monuments is the world’s largest photography competition, encouraging participants to capture and celebrate cultural heritage sites across the globe. Marika’s achievement not only shines a light on her incredible talent, but also puts Malta’s architectural beauty firmly in the international spotlight.

Well done, Marika – you’ve made Malta proud!
