Maltese football sensation Maria Farrugia has clinched the Barclays Women’s Championship Goal of the Season award at the first-ever Women’s Professional Game Awards, hosted at Lightroom, London.

Representing Sunderland AFC Women, Maria impressed throughout the season, receiving two nominations for Goal of the Season and an additional nod for Player of the Season.

Her winning strike stood out for its technique, flair, and confidence, earning admiration from both fans and football experts across the league.

The award marks a proud moment for Maltese football on the international stage.
