Wednesday 16th March: Malta registers 229 new COVID-19 cases as 82 recover

The Health Authority’s Facebook page, Sahha, has published today's figures. Malta has registered 229 new cases in the past 24 hours.

The islands have registered 82 recoveries, meaning that the country’s total number of active cases now stands at 1,673.

Up until yesterday 1,250,797 vaccine doses were administered in Malta. 347,315 of these are booster doses.

One COVID-19 related deaths was registered in the past 24 hours: an 83-year-old female. This brings the country’s virus death toll up to 618.

A total of 51 patients are being treated at Mater Dei Hospital, one of whom is in ITU.
