An eye-catching waterspout made an appearance off Dingli and Baħrija this morning, marking the arrival of a spell of unstable weather across the Maltese Islands. The sighting was captured on video by Vincenzo Maisto and shared to the Maltese Islands Weather page, giving locals a striking preview of what's to come.

According to Maltese Islands Weather, the weekend is set to bring isolated showers, some of which could turn heavy or thundery, with the possibility of small hail – conditions already experienced overnight and earlier this morning.

A strong westerly wind is also expected to persist, adding to the overall unsettled outlook. If you’re heading outdoors, keep an eye on weather updates… and maybe pack a waterproof, just to be safe!

Any outdoor plans this weekend?
