WATCH: Maltese musicians and singers come together for admirable Earth Day project
Combing music and nature, these musicians are assembling together for a more sustainable Malta
Dario Genovese, ex ‘The Busker’ singer and now solo singer and songwriter is leading an incredibly admirable initiative with other fellow Maltese musicians for this year’s upcoming Earth Day on Saturday, 22nd April.
Many musicians across the islands have come together to bring more awareness about sustainable practices in Malta.
“The idea behind Musicians for the Earth came about quite recently and it combines two things which I am passionate about, music and nature. I wanted to launch this project this week as we celebrate Earth Day on the 22nd of April and it felt rather fitting”, Dario expressed to GuidemeMalta.com.

“I don't consider this to be a one-off project, but rather the start of something new. I already have a few other ideas that I wish to work on in the near future”, he continued.
“The aim of this project is to come together as musicians and singers alike, to encourage one another to take action and protect our planet from further harm, as well as raise awareness on how to lead a more sustainable life”.
Some of the musicians involved include Banjo Rancho who is offering free drum lessons for anyone who sends him evidence of a clean-up and tags him on Facebook.

Musician Yazmine Helledie will also be trying her best to eliminate single-use plastics while continuing to make use of sustainable fashion practices.
The band Sterjtotipi will start going to their events and gigs by making use of a single car instead of going there in multiple cars.
Singer Andy Muscat from Avenue Sky will now start using one multiuse plastic bottle instead of multiple single-use ones.
Bertu Aquilina from Skald will now also be creating instruments from recycled materials.
XFactor star, Janice Debattista always uses cloth-based bags, so she avoids having to use single-use plastic bags. She always buys products that have the least of amount of material for their packaging as much as possible.
The founder and director of White Noise, Sarah Cachia Falzon plans to volunteer more at local clean-ups while also teaching more about sustainability to her kids.
What a great initiative, well done to all involved!
