He captures our rock perfectly.

It’s no secret that the Maltese Islands are gorgeous, and everyone (naturally) snaps shots of them qishom pastizzi as we say in Maltese... some even trying their hand at Boomerangs and cool videos. But this guy just took things to a whole new level.

Andrea Cini recently posted a video with drone footage of incredible spots around the Maltese Islands, and honestly, we’re speechless! Oh, and get this – he’s only 19 years old! Speaking to Andrea, I found out about the inspiration behind the project. “One of my main interests when travelling is researching a bit about the place and finding out the hot spots of the place,” he begins.

Andrea explains that while a lot of ground and aerial footage can be found for other countries, it something which he feels was lacking to showcase our islands. “When I did some research about Malta, the majority of the content was dated and the places have changed over the course of time, and I felt I had to show key points of what makes Malta special, and also those places that are not normally showcased.”

Andrea shot stunning places like Popeye Village in Mellieha, the Tower at Ghajn Tuffieha and Dingli Cliffs, Mdina and the Grand Harbour. He’s also got a collection of spectacular shots of various places, revealing that his favourite type of photography is landscape photography.

Will we be seeing more of Andrea’s work? “Definitely!” he eagerly tells me. “I got great feedback and I will definitely be creating and working on more videos about the Maltese Islands which will eventually be uploaded on my YouTube channel.
