Viva Santa Liena! 8 shots showing Karkarizi having a BLAST at this year's Birkirkara feast
They MIGHT still be nursing sore heads this morning...

Yesterday, Birkirkara locals (and other avid festa-goers) attended the much-awaited feast of St Helen (or Santa Liena). From dressing up in the appropriate colours, marching the streets and drinking booze all day (ovja), these shots show - as if we needed proof - that the Maltese really know how to party!

1. Sea of green… and red!

Birkirkara’s streets turned a bright green and crimson red for the day.

7. It was basically party central

Anyone knows that a local festa wouldn’t have a Maltese touch without a little booze and boogying the night away.

8. Nursing sore heads?

Judging by the fab photos, it seems like locals truly had a blast and are possibly nursing sore heads from all the day-time drinking.
