Valentina Hotel: This accommodation gem puts you right in the heart of things
We adore the family-run feel of this chic 132-room boutique hotel – and we love its rooftop infinity pool most of all!

Valentina

Step into the Hotel Valentina lobby and you’ll instantly understand why this is one of the most trusted and beloved hotels in the whole of the St Julian’s region. Light streams through the floor-to-ceiling windows, guests pore over a bestseller in the reading nook, and friendly staff welcome you to this – your home-from-home in the heart of St Julian’s. I’ll be honest: I have been a fan of this place for a while, but the recent renovation and extension has now made it even more of a must for those looking for ideal accommodation in Malta.

Valentina

St Julian’s is one of Malta’s most popular spots. Known as the entertainment district, it is abuzz with cafés, bars, nightlife spots, shops and cinemas – and it helps that it’s also home to some of the very best restaurants on the island. The best thing about the Valentina is that it is the ideal location from where to enjoy all of this, as well as an absolute haven of tranquillity and a space where you can completely switch off.

Here’s why.

One of the best lobbies ever

Valentina

Seriously, we loved this lobby and spent much of our stay cocooned here, sipping delicious coffees, checking our emails on the complimentary computers, and enjoying the general atmosphere of this vibrant space. I particularly enjoyed the central courtyard, with its leafy indoor-outdoor feel – it proved to be the perfect place to sit with the book I have been meaning to get through for months.

A rooftop view… and infinity pool

Valentina

Head up to the top floor of the Valentina and you are in for a treat. The gorgeous deck is a sight to behold, with plenty of space to kick back, relax, sip a cocktail (or two) and gaze out at the view. Oh, and the pool isn’t half bad either – with its stylish infinity edge. This is definitely an Insta-worthy spot if ever there was one.

A stylish space to retire to

Valentina

Is there anything better than retiring to your room after a serious day of holidaying, sinking into a comfortable bed, and drifting off? I didn’t think so. The Valentina bedrooms are impressive – particularly the beautiful new Executive Rooms and Penthouse Suites that form part of the extension. Trust me, the freestanding bath is everything… not to mention the plush soft furnishings that make these rooms feel unbelievably luxe.

A place to meet – and work (if you want to)

Valentina

The great thing about the Valentina is that it can play so many versatile roles – from fab family hotel to great business base. The meeting rooms are testament to this – and ideal if you’re planning a gathering for up to 35 people. The technology available is state-of-the-art, and the rooms have everything you and your colleagues could need to make a success of your time here.

A seriously great breakfast

Valentina

Breakfast is a full-on event at the Valentina. The breakfast room is a destination in its own right, with a view out over the lobby or St Julian’s outside. Coffee, tea or hot chocolate will be brought to your table piping hot, while you’ll have an immense job making your way around the buffet to sample all the cereals, fruit, healthy options, hams and cheeses, local delicacies (like pastizzi), breads, eggs, bacon and more. It certainly promises to set you up for the day!

Valentina

And finally, the friendly faces

What is any hotel without the friendly faces to make it feel like home? The team here at the Valentina will do exactly that – whether you’re simply stopping by for a cocktail or planning to stay for weeks on end. They really are the cherry on the cake of a brilliant stay in Malta – so thank you, Team Valentina!
