A historic palazzo in the heart of Rome has just been given a new lease of life: Corinthia Rome has officially opened its doors on Piazza del Parlamento, marking the Italian debut of the luxury hotel brand Corinthia Hotels.

The hotel sits inside a grand neoclassical building that once served as the historic headquarters of the Bank of Italy. After restoration, the palazzo has been transformed into a luxury hotel while preserving many of its original features - from its monumental architecture to stunning 1920s frescoes.

Spanning around 9,700 square metres, the new hotel features 60 rooms, including 21 suites, all designed to feel like elegant private residences set within the building’s historic structure. Think high ceilings, large windows, plenty of natural light and views across the city or into the peaceful inner courtyard.

The property sits in Campo Marzio, one of Rome’s most historic neighbourhoods, just a short walk from some of the city’s most iconic landmarks like the Pantheon, the Roman Forum, and the Spanish Steps.

Food lovers will also find something special here. The hotel marks the first Roman venture for famed Italian chef Carlo Cracco, who will be leading the culinary experience inside the property.

Elsewhere in the building, guests can enjoy panoramic penthouses overlooking the Eternal City, as well as a subterranean spa inspired by ancient Roman bathing rituals, set inside the building’s original underground vault.

The historic palazzo itself dates back to 1913–1921 and was designed by architects Pio Piacentini and Marcello Piacentini. Today, it’s owned by Reuben Brothers, making this their second property operated by Corinthia Hotels.

With restored heritage details, contemporary design and one of the most central locations in the city, Corinthia Rome is bringing new life to one of the capital’s historic landmarks.
