A proposed plan to build on ODZ land connecting Hal Safi, Hal Kirkop and Zebbug has generated a public outcry from residents whose quality of life would be impacted by the loss of the greenstrip between the three localities.

Now, Moviment Graffitti has joined forces with residents to protest against the project and conserve Malta's precious agricultural land.

In a post uploaded earlier today on Facebook, Moviment Graffiti announced that members of the NGO had visited the area the day before and met with locals who are oppositing this development: "Residents explained that the site just doesn't have environmental value but also cultural significance since it's one of the only open-air spaces in the area," Moviment Graffiti said.

Highlighting the anxieties felt by residents, the post continued that: "They are worried that the lungs of these villages will be taken away for a private project on ODZ land, consequently causing a negative impact on adjacent fields."

Lending their support to the cause, Moviment Graffiti said: "We will persevere and support this cause in any way necessary."

Objections to the project can be registered on the following link till 29th May: https://bit.ly/35B7G33
