Flights to and from “entire countries” are reportedly expected to be announced.
It seems that Malta’s travel ban to countries including Italy, France and Spain will be lifted as plans to exclude such countries from the safe travel corridors list have been scrapped.
According to Times of Malta, government sources said that flights to and from “entire countries” are expected to be announced. The source said that the change was given the go ahead over the past few days and an official legal notice should be published later on this evening.
The countries with travel exceptions reportedly included Italy, excluding Emilia Romagna, Lombardia and Piemonte; France, excluding Ile-de-France, and Spain with the exception of Castilla-La Manche, Catalonia, Madrid, Castile and Leon. The Polish region of Katowice was also added to the list just one week ago, but it is understood that this ban will also be lifted.
