Time to move the clock forward by one hour, Malta! Daylight Savings Time starts TODAY
Unfortunately, you got one less hour of sleep last night…

Emma Galea

This is your reminder that Malta has switched to Daylight Savings Time during the night.

As the clock struck 2 AM this Sunday morning, it actually moved forward by one hour making it 3 AM - this sadly means you got one hour less of sleep, unless you made up for it by having a lie-in!

Of course, this also means that the sun will be setting one hour later, making the days feel longer. In fact, tonight you will be able to enjoy plenty of hours of sunshine as the sun will set at the late hour of 7:22 PM.

Daylights savings time will persist up until 25th October 2026, when wintertime re-starts, and our clocks are shifted backwards by an hour once again.

Are you celebrating the later sunsets?

29th March 2026
