Although traffic has become part of the Maltese people’s order of the day, today’s congestion reached an unprecedented high.

What was the cause?

The congestion is attributed to a tragic traffic accident that happened early this morning in Santa Venera.

A 22-year-old man lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a wall and some road signs, causing major delays for motorists.

The accident occurred at around 3:30am in Regional Road.

The young man has been taken to Mater Dei for further treatment.

Regional Road is now open, so the gridlock should clear within the next 30 to 45 minutes!

Were you stuck in this traffic jam this morning?
