Malta, Gozo and Comino are picturesque to say the least. The crystal clear waters juxtaposed against the warm rock, glistening sand and (at this time of year) thriving green areas create the perfect photographs.

Apart from capturing the quirky, traditional features of the islands, local photo snappers are given a beautiful scene to preserve through the lenses of their cameras. From beautiful skies to serene environments, here are your top Malta & Gozo scenes to keep in your memory.

Sunrise

As they say, the early bird catches the worm, and oh what a worm to catch! Park yourself on a vacant bench, which will be pretty easy to find in the early hours of the morning, to capture the sunrise from the horizon in the southern parts of Malta. Prop your camera gear on a steady and unobstructed surface to immortalise the magic.

Sunset

Much like the perplexities of a sunrise, a sunset’s positive energy on the soul needs to be photographed. Although this and the above may seem a tad similar, the colours, surroundings and results are pretty different! Head to the north of the island for that perfect pic.

Woodland

The Maltese woodlands of Buskett are the greenest area in Malta, and during the autumn, they're pretty enough to serves as a great nature photography spot. Take a few shots of the auburn leaves as they hold onto the sturdy branches of the many trees in the area. Think outside the box here, capture the essence of autumn in Buskett Gardens.

The waves

As the winds pick up and the waves swell, local photographers rush to the shores to wave watch. Every wave is different, every shot will represent the dynamic power of the deep blue sea. Watch out for the sea-spray; it will make its way to your camera lens!

Apart from the above mentioned, be sure to take loads of selfies, foodie pics and remember to plan a couple of photo shoots for your pets too - not that you’d need an excuse for that!
