Malta’s tourism industry continues to thrive, with the latest figures showing a significant rise in visitor numbers this September. According to newly released statistics, a total of 393,848 inbound tourists visited the Maltese Islands in September 2025, marking a 10% increase compared to the same month last year.

Visitors collectively spent 2.69 million nights across the islands, with the vast majority (over 87%) choosing rented accommodation such as hotels, guesthouses, and short-let apartments.

When looking at the broader picture, Malta’s appeal has remained consistent throughout 2025. Between January and September, over 3 million tourists visited the islands, spending a total of 19.6 million nights.

These figures are proof that Malta keeps being chosen as a year-round destination, offering a mix of sun, sea, history, and culture even outside the peak months of summer.

With the shoulder season now in full swing and events like Notte Bianca, Birgufest, and the Mdina Grand Prix drawing both locals and visitors, Malta’s tourism sector looks set to close the year on another high note!
