Rogolin created everything from traditional Maltese bread and ftajjar to qagħaq tal-għasel, qaghaq tal-appostil, and qagħaq tal-ħmira
We’ve got some bad news for bread lovers.
Rogolin, a small traditional Maltese bakery with a big heart in the heart of Balzan, has announced it is closing its doors at the end of the month.
Rumours have long been circulating that Rogolin would soon be closing down, and while we hoped they weren’t true, the bakery’s owners have unfortunately made the news official.
“We regret to announce that we will cease operations on 31st March,” the bakery said. “We would like to thank our clients who always appreciated our services, as well as all the organisations we served. Everything was always made from the heart.”
It is a family-run bakery, whose current owners have been running the place for around 12 and a half years.
Rogolin has delighted several customers over the years with their handmade products baked in a traditional oven, which ranged from traditional Maltese bread and ftajjar to qagħaq tal-għasel, qagħaq tal-appostli, and qagħaq tal-ħmira.
The bakery was also renowned for its community work, which included charity initiatives for Puttinu Cares, and had even been awarded Ġieħ Ħal Balzan for services to the village and country.
We are sad to see them go and we wish the owners all the very best.
