A little about Cheryl and Shaun

Cheryl and Shaun are from Yorkshire, UK and moved to Gozo to open Country Views Bed & Breakfast, which was a great success. “We then decided we wanted a new adventure, so we took on the Chippy Van in January," the couple says.

The van is designed specifically for making the mouth-watering fish and chips in the traditional way. “We make our food fresh each morning, which includes rumbling, chipping and twice cooking our chips which no one else does.”

“We’ve learnt how to do this from scratch and have dedicated many days on getting it perfect. We’re proud to say that we are serving great traditional British fish & chips exactly how it should be done! It’s great to be able to bring a bit of Britain to Gozo, and people are loving what we do - it really has been a great success.”

The Chippy Van uses quality ingredients including the best cuts of cod and even makes its own twice cooked chips from scratch. #foodgoals! “We make fresh prawn scampi and even make our very own batter mix and fresh tartar sauce!”

Along with traditional British fish and chips, they’re adding something to their menu that has a Maltese twist to it! “We’ll be serving battered local sheep cheese soon!” Guys, they’re going to be making fried ġbejniet. YAS!

The Chippy Van can be found in Victoria, Gozo, on the roadside, just across from Tal-Lira in Fortunato Mizzi Street, and is open from Friday to Sunday every week between 12pm (noon) and 8pm. Listen out for the rock and roll classics blaring out and you’ll definitely find them!
