We are all excited at the prospect of a long weekend, but it only takes one look out of the office windows for that emotion to plummet. Gloom, rain and grey seem to be the order of the day, and while there are many who enjoy this weather, things are about to take a turn for the worse.
The high winds we have been experiencing on and off this week are here for a while. Expected to peak at F7 today, they will diminish to F5-6 gusts as the day progresses only to pick up again on Friday. Rain is expected both today and tomorrow, so make sure to get your waterproof jackets out as wet winds make it notoriously difficult to keep warm.
At present, Saturday is expected to receive the biggest hit with F8 North Westernly winds kicking up a storm – literally! Such winds generally fall under the gale warning category, but with two days left, best to keep updated with the weather forecasts before pressing the panic button. Additionally, rain is expected to be sparser, but we might still be in for a shower or two. That’s all the warning we need to wrap up warm!
However, the bad weather will dissipate by Sunday, with winds expected to average around the F4 mark and a sunny forecast predicted. We might have a glum couple of days ahead, but at least there is a ray of sunlight to look forward to!
Looks like a staying in, watching a movie and drinking hot cocoa kinda weekend!
