The Maltese expression tista’ taqli bajda f’din is-shana (you can fry an egg in this heat) totally applies, it would seem... these locals took its literal meaning to try out a hilarious experiment.

In a Facebook post, Green Thumbs Farm Malta posted a hilarious series of photos that has us lolling. They experimented with today’s scorching heat to test the theory that the Maltese expression uses. They literally fried an egg, outside, in this heat!

The pictures show the gradual progression of the egg being cooked on a hot slab without using fire. All they needed was a frying pan, a little oil and the sun’s hot rays – which there are currently plenty of. And voila! Fried egg in no time!
