Malta has been struck by some serious heatwaves in recent weeks, and honestly at this rate, we wouldn’t be surprised if another came along next week! But these locals are staying positive and chose to take the mickey out of the island's unforgiving temperatures.

1. The scorching sun

This meme was seen making the rounds on social media showing the distance between Earth and the Sun, and Malta right next to the ball of energy. And it pretty much felt that way down here!

This meme surfaced in a Facebook group that showed a profile screenshot of someone named Mel Ting. And obviously some genius created a meme that read “It’s so hot I’m Mel Ting.” 10 points for this one!

We’ve ALL become BFFs with our air conditioner and have pledged to never take the machine for granted ever again.

4. Boiled eggs, anyone?

We’ve got to keep those chickens (and any other animal) fresh in this sweltering heat! But we highly doubt crushed ice is going to cut it, so we might have to settle for hard-boiled eggs.
