The people have spoken! Here are 12 must-try brunch spots in Malta
In the mood for a mid-morning meal?

Francesca Vella

Brunch is the perfect solution to waking up too late for breakfast but being too hungry to wait for lunch. There’s something about having a meal in the middle of the morning that gives off absolute holiday vibes, whether it’s poached eggs or something a little more alternative.

Brunch spots have been popping up all over the island in the recent years, so we reached out to GuideMeMalta.com readers for some recommendations:

Danny’s

This spot on one of Malta’s busiest roads in Imrieħel claims to have ‘a chef in a snack bar’, and taste of the food at Danny’s attests to that.

Crust

Crust is a popular spot in St Julian’s which boasts divine donuts stuffed with Nutella and Kinder Bueno – enough said.

Two Buoys

If you’re into brunch hopping, just down the road from Crust is Two Buoys: an Australian-owned and themed brunch restaurant that serves poached eggs on waffles instead of the traditional English muffin, while making them look (and taste) equally delicious.

Elephant Shoe

Having a morning stroll in the Upper Barrakka gardens and feeling peckish? No better place to brunch than the elegant Elephant Shoe – bagels have never been more photogenic, and delicious.

Word of Mouth

Craving some glorious milkshake with your brunch? Word of Mouth has you sorted, with some entertaining names to boot: will it be the 'Sweet Chocolate O'Mine', 'Banoffee Rhapsody' or the 'Berry Jean'?

Whether you’re in Valletta, Naxxar or San Ġwann, TRIBE has all your brunch needs sorted, and then some. Craving the fluffiest pancakes you’ll ever taste? Search no more.

Brunch & Beyond

The eatery Brunch & Beyond is true to its name: all the usual brunch staples can be found here, but one can also order the eclectic Stroopwaffle Smore or truffle scrambled eggs. Yes please!

Bohini

Aside from all the breakfast items you can imagine, Bohini provides full lunch menu from midday onwards, with unique sesame seed-crusted pizzas that cannot be missed!

Marelli Cafe

Anyone roaming the centre of Malta would be wise to check out whatever specials Marelli Cafe is producing from its kitchen. Entering this eatery will undoubtedly guarantee several follow-up visits in attempt to taste everything on its original menu.
