The party's hardly over in October in Malta. Some of Malta's best annual events are happening at the start of autumn!

Notte Bianca

5 October 2019

Stumble across site-specific projects situated in Valletta's streets and squares, as the city comes alive through a night of music, dance, theatre, visual arts, literature and the digital arts. Shops, cafes, restaurants and wine bars stay open for business, in case you want a break from all the activity, or if you want a bite before visiting state palaces and museums which are open to the public free of charge.

Birgufest & Birgu by candelight

11-13 October 2019

Get thrown back in time in Birgu. The picturesque walled city, one of Malta's oldest and most historic, becomes a stage for culture and art. Wander through the narrow, winding streets to find a historical reenactment here and a music ensemble there. The joys inside museums and historical buildings can be experienced at a discounted price, while residents open the doors to their extraordinary homes so you can peek inside. Enjoy exhibitions, concerts and Maltese food. And, on Saturday night, expect nothing but candlelight.

The Malta International Tattoo Expo

11-13 October 2019

If you'd rather art of a different kind this weekend - and the culture you're interested in is more contemporary - head to Malta's International Tattoo Convention which is getting bigger and bigger. The expo brings together the best tattoo artists on the Maltese Islands and several international tattoo studios. Go and see the amazing artists, competitions and shows for yourself.

Malta Classic Mdina Grand Prix

12-13 October 2019

Feel the excitement rise as the racing begins. Gape in awe at the amazing performance of drivers and classic automobiles on this challenging circuit, which is set in the picturesque landscape outside Mdina's fortified walls. Eight to ten classic beauties make tight bends and sweeping curves at a thrilling pace to the finish line. From the test runs, right up to the award-giving ceremony, you'll be left feeling breathless.

Rolex Middle Sea Race

19 October 2019

How do you make a sailing race exciting? Organise it in windier autumn conditions rather than those prevailing in the Maltese summer. How do you make a sailing circuit absolutely stunning? Start and finish it in the Grand Harbour in Malta and do a clockwise circumnavigation of Sicily, including Lampedusa, Pantelleria and the Egadian and Eolian islands, placing an active volcano among the marks of the course. Go wave a hanky and wish them luck! And, make it a point to also enjoy the Rolex Middle Sea Race Coastal Race on 16 October.

26 October 2019
