With Malta having legalised cannabis (for personal use) last December, users can finally celebrate 4/20 – internationally known as ‘Weed Day’ – with complete peace of mind.

As a biproduct of the plant’s legalisation, Malta also ended up legalising CBD oil as well as items containing this ingredient.

Just in case you’re unfamiliar with these terms, CBD stands for Cannabidiol – a chemical found in the cannabis plant. CBD does not contain THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), which is the ingredient in cannabis that produces a high.

Since its popularisation, this nifty ingredient has been proven to be pretty effective in treating conditions and ailments such as chronic pain, anxiety, inflammation, and insomnia.

CBD in its purest form is most frequently found as an oil, which manufacturers often infuse into a vast range of consumable products – we’re talking soaps, shampoos, candy, and even drinks.

In celebration of 4/20, today we’re listing three CBD-infused treats which you can easily get your hands on in Malta. Here we go!

1. Beef Buds’ 420 Burger

Swieqi burger joint Beef Buds have gone ahead and launched their very own 420-inspired burger, which comes slathered in some delicious-looking CBD-infused mayonnaise.

This meaty treat includes a brioche bun, two beef patties, sage cheese, a fried egg, and crispy onions, and if looks are anything to go by, it’s downright mouth-watering.

2. Kir Royal’s CBD Coffee

Quaint Valletta coffee shop Kir Royal might have been the first establishment around the Maltese islands to put CBD-infused products on its menu. Apart from a healthy range of sweet and savoury snacks, Kir Royal’s also offering customers CBD coffee.

“Adding drops of CBD to your coffee daily can present a multitude of positive benefits, including improved focus, better sleeping patterns, anti-anxiety, anti-inflammatory, and also mellow those coffee jitters,” the coffee shop wrote.

 3. Gummy Bears (with a twist)
