Talk about busy! This is how the Malta Police Force spent their Easter Sunday
Local police is maxing out its efforts to prevent further COVID-19 spread

Local police was yesterday out in full force to ensure COVID-19 health directives situation in Malta were being respected.

Over the span of Easter Sunday, The Malta Police Force in conjunction with the Environmental Health Directorate, Malta and Civil Protection Malta carried out 530 quarantine inspections. A further 295 inspections related to closure of establishments were also recorded, with no infringements noted. 

With yesterday's beautiful weather came a total of 103 fines for those caught in groups involving more than three people.

Traffic police were also kept busy, with 64 fines dished out to over-speeding drivers, one of which clocked an eye-popping 185km/h on the St Paul's Bypass.

Over and above their regular duties, local police also dedicated a portion of their day to bringing Easter cheer to several old people's homes across Malta with a mini open-air performance.
