Sunshine at last! Yesterday marked Malta’s first clear day after 10 rainy days
2nd April brought a break in the clouds that hung over the end of March

Francesca Vella

After 10 consecutive days of gloomy skies and scattered showers across the islands, blue skies have finally returned to Malta and Gozo! According to Maltese Islands Weather, yesterday marked the first mostly sunny day after a prolonged wet spell that saw rainfall recorded somewhere on the islands every single day.

In the 10-day period between March 23rd and April 1st, a total of 42.8mm of rain was recorded – a significant amount for this time of year, even exceeding the average rainfall for the entire month of March!

Enjoy the sunshine while it lasts, because more rain is on the way! Forecasts predict isolated showers starting Monday, April 7th, which are expected to linger through Wednesday, April 9th.

Stay tuned for updates, and in the meantime – soak up the sun while you can!

Are you enjoying the bright days or hoping for more rain?

3rd April 2025
