Local eNGO Zibel is asking the public to be mindful of how they dispose of their surgical masks and gloves to not only keep our islands safe during this pandemic but also to keep it clean and in turn, safeguard to environment.

“Just a friendly reminder to dispose of your single-use gloves and masks correctly (these shouldn’t be recycled or thrown on the streets)!” they said on Facebook today, appealing to the public.

“Not only could littering contribute towards the spread of the virus, however, let’s also consider the additional repercussions that this has on the environment!” they urge. “By working together and each doing our part, we can keep Malta safe and clean.”
